Best poke I’ve ever had in my life! I got the Spicy Ahi with all the toppings. There’s only two parking spots, so recommend Uber or walking. Very tasty!

I’ve been here every time I visit Oahu, and it’s the poke place we always come back for. The location is great, and parking is fairly easy, which already makes it a smooth stop during a trip. Their fish quality is just different. It’s so fresh, and the texture is honestly crazy in the best way. Every bite tastes clean and high quality, and you can tell right away this isn’t average poke. The portions are good, and the price feels very fair for what you get. Also, their marinated crab is amazing, but you have to go early because it sells out quick. If you come later in the day, there’s a good chance it’ll be gone, so I learned to prioritize this stop when I’m planning my day. I’ve tried so many poke places in Hawaii, and this is still the best one for me. Consistently fresh fish, great portions, fair pricing, and a convenient location. If you’re looking for a poke spot to return to again and again, this is it.

I had a Hawaiian tako + ahi tuna combo bowl. Easily the best poke I've had on the island! The poke was fresh and well seasoned, and the rice was well made. I went at 9:30 am on a weekday and had no problems with parking, and there was no line. No issues with my soy, gluten, and dairy allergies. Staff was knowledgeable about all ingredients used.

Parking may be tough and there’s not many spots. Just keep that in mind if you’re coming here. The line to order moves quick! As for the food, I thought the poke was okay. Not my favorite in the area but I wanted to try since it was pretty popular. I got half half (spicy salmon and I forgot the other one it was ahi tuna)

Just another POSITIVE REVIEW! Definitely come through for some fresh poke! Only downside is small parking lot & small seating area! But you should just take it to go and take it to the beach !! My boyfriend and I got spicy salmon and Hawaiian style ahi! 10/10 !

TLDR: Foodland’s poke is better. Ono is highly raved spot, but I personally thought Foodland was better (and cheaper per lb, BTW). The fish quality and freshness at Ono is decent (kind of fishy taste/smell), but it’s severely lacking in marinade depth and flavor. The marinade was kind of bland and especially the spicy ahi — way too much mayo and almost no spice and too creamy for me. The shoyu ahi was spicier and had more flavor depth. Other flavors were decent, but nothing really memorable. It’s worth a try and that you stood in a long line as well.

A small little hole in the wall, but fresh and super good poke. A small menu, but what they have they do very well. Seaweed salad was a great complement to the salmon and ahi poke. Parking is tight, but worth a trip for sure.

I stopped by Ono Seafood on Kapahulu Avenue after hearing that it is one of the best places in Honolulu for poke, and it definitely lived up to the reputation. The shop itself is small and very simple, but the focus here is clearly on the quality of the fish. Ono Seafood specializes in fresh ahi poke, and you can taste the freshness immediately. The texture of the fish is clean and firm, and the seasoning is balanced in a way that enhances the flavor without overpowering it. One of the standout options is the spicy ahi poke, which has just enough heat while still letting the quality of the fish shine through. The ordering process is straightforward. You order at the counter and most people take their poke to go, although there are a few small tables outside if you want to sit for a quick bite. The shop has more of a neighborhood takeout feel rather than a full restaurant. What stood out to me most was the consistency and simplicity of the concept. Ono Seafood focuses on doing one thing extremely well, and that is serving high-quality poke using fresh ingredients and classic Hawaiian preparation. Overall, Ono Seafood is one of those places that locals often recommend when someone asks where to get great poke in Honolulu. If you are exploring the Kapahulu area and want a truly authentic poke experience, this spot is definitely worth the stop.
